Louise Tunzi, Assistant Director-Head Teacher
My name is Miss Louise and I am the head teacher in the infant room as well as the assistant director of C Street. I have been working at C Street since December of 1992. I have been working with the infants the whole time.
Babies and toddlers are my favorite age because it’s fun to see how they are ambitious about exploring their world. All of these years spent with babies have taught me a lot about them and their needs. We have learned how to meet the babies individual needs before they even realize that they want or need anything! I also have six children of my own that I raised, so I think that I have a pretty good idea of how to care for infants.
There are a lot of components that make a high quality childcare. I think that the three most important components are: a good relationship with the parents, a caring and loving environment for the children, and, of course, safety in the classroom.
Several of the teachers, including me, have taken many different training courses to receive our Child Development Accreditation. You’ll be glad to know that we recieved it!
I look forward to establishing a good relationship with you. Please feel free to express any comments or concerns that you might have.
Marie Heffington, Assistant Teacher
I am Miss Marie and I’m the assistant teacher in the infant room. I have been working here at C Street since March 1993. For the first seven years, I worked with the toddler class. Since then, I have been in the infant room. I’ve really enjoyed working with these two ages. Children grow up so fast and it’s fascinating to see the changes that they go through. They go from not even being able to move, to crawling, eating on their own, and to some extent showing their unique personality.
It’s important to me that I show the children love. After all, it’s only through love that they learn to trust and be at ease with us as teachers. I believe that Louise and I make a really good team.
I have four kids that are all grown-up. I had a lot of fun experiencing motherhood with them. I look forward to being a part of your lives.
